This title is the part of series written by the New York architect George S. Chappell under the pseudonym Dr. Walter E. Traprock. These books were written in the first person about his (Traprock's) various adventures. The Traprock books are thought to be the brainchild of George Putnam (of the G. P. Putnam's Sons publishing house), who recruited his friend, George Chappell to write them.

This is the fourth, and last, of the Traprock books, and is the only one written under Chappell's own name. The author proetends to "interview" the now retitered explorer, Dr. Traprock, at his estate in Connecticut on the banks of the Housatonic River. A funny read!
